Laura Stanbridge graduated from the School of International Service at American University in Washington D.C., specialising in European Integration. She also completed a certificate of expertise in European Integration with the European Economic Commission and obtained a certificate in Arts Management from the State University of New York.
Laura began her career working in 1984 for the American computer company, General Automation, in Paris. As head of the World Trade Division, she oversaw all contracts and client relationships on behalf of GA with the French government to supply computer hardware for defence use.
From Paris, Laura moved to New York to create the first French speaking television station in the US. With support from the French government, Laura set up the award winning French American Communications and Television Services (FACTS), providing the New York area with French news programming (subtitled in English) during the Gulf War, as well as overseeing the production of other French speaking programmes. The French government later used FACTS as a model in other key cities in the US.
In 1991, Laura joined the award winning production company, CASE Television, in London, where she achieved credits for several hard hitting documentaries broadcasted on the BBC and Channel 4. Laura also wrote ‘Laura’s London’ a weekly column in the American Newspaper. Towards the mid-1990’s, Laura was appointed Associate Board Director at August One Communications and also at MacLaurin, were she consulted on corporate and consumer communication strategies for some of the leading UK companies. Laura also joined DWI as a Director and Head of Practice for the media and public sector in 2000. She was also an active member of several Anglo-American diplomatic organisations such as the Institute for US Studies, The Pilgrims, The Monday Luncheon Club and NDSAR who awarded her for being an outstanding junior in 1997and where she was the Regent of the Walter Hines Page Chapter in London.
In January 2002, Laura and John Stanbridge moved to Spain to set up KSi Costa Consulting, a group of companies providing accounting, tax, legal and HR services. As the Managing Director of the group, Laura has led the company as it has grown in both size and reputation. KSi Costa Consulting works closely with many business organisations and the Spanish government at both a local and state level. On 1 January 2009, the company was re-branded as CCG in response to their expansion plan.
Laura is very active in many organisations. She was the founder of Women in Business on the Costa del Sol in 2003 and in 2006 she was elected President for Andalucía of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain. In 2008, Laura was elected to the Governing Council of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain (BCCS) and appointed as the Head of Public Affairs. In October 2008, Laura was honoured with a special recognition for both her work to integrate the foreign and Spanish business communities and as an ambassador promoting Andalucía around the globe by the Junta de Andalucía (the Andalucía government) and the Malaga Chamber of Commerce. Presently, she officially cooperates with the Marbella City Hall in developing opportunities for the city in the fields of foreign investment, educational and governmental relations. In 2009 Laura was elected to American University’s Alumni Board.
